Seal, insulate and protect in one step
- Glue-lined sealThe inner lining melts as the tube shrinks and seals out water, salt and dust.
- Shrinks 3:1Shrinks to a third of its size, so it slides over plugs and joints and still grips tight.
- Cut to lengthSupplied in 150 mm lengths. Cut with scissors or a knife to suit the job.
Order before 1pm and it ships the same day from the Gold Coast by Australia Post Express. Family run, trading online since 2009.
Why adhesive lined
Ordinary heat shrink is a plastic sleeve. It insulates, but water can creep along the wire and under it. Dual wall heat shrink has a glue lining that melts as the outer wall shrinks, filling the gaps around the wire and bonding to it. The result is a sealed, strain-relieved joint that stays put.
Dual wall adhesiveBest
- Sealed against water
- Fits over bulky plugs3:1 to 6:1
- Bonded to the wire
- Strain relief
Single wall heat shrink
- Not sealed against water
- Usually 2:1 only
- Can slide
- Some strain relief
Electrical tape
- Not sealed against water
- Wraps anything
- Peels off in heat
- No strain relief
Which size do I need?
Measure the widest part the tube has to slide over and the thinnest part it has to grip. Pick a size whose range covers both.
7.9 → 2.6 mmThis tube
3:1 clear · fits about 3 to 7 mm
12 → 3 mm
4:1 · fits about 4 to 10 mm
12.7 → 4.2 mm
3:1 white · fits about 5 to 11 mm
19.1 → 6.36 mm
3:1 clear · fits about 7 to 17 mm
20 → 5 mm
4:1 · fits about 6 to 17 mm
32 → 8 mm
4:1 · fits about 9 to 28 mm
33 → 5.5 mm
6:1 heavy wall · fits about 6 to 29 mm
Ranges are a guide. If you are between sizes, go one size up.
Who it's for
How to use it
- MeasureCheck the widest and thinnest parts the tube has to cover.
- CutCut a length that overlaps the joint by about 10 mm each side.
- Slide onSlide the tube on before you join or plug the wires.
- HeatHeat from the middle out until it shrinks and a little glue shows at each end.
Pairs with Solderstick
Solderstick connectors solder, seal and insulate a wire joint with just a heat gun. Add a length of heat shrink over the top for extra strain relief on joints that get bent or rubbed.

Questions before you buy
How do I pick a size?
Pick a tube whose starting size slides over the widest part (plug, joint or lug) and whose shrunk size is smaller than the thinnest part you want it to grip. Use the size table above as a guide.
Heat gun or torch?
A heat gun is best: it gives even heat and won't scorch the tube. A small butane torch works too. Keep the flame moving and don't hold it in one spot.
3:1 vs 4:1 vs 6:1?
The ratio is how far the tube shrinks. 3:1 shrinks to a third of its size, 4:1 to a quarter and 6:1 to a sixth. A higher ratio covers a bigger difference between the widest and thinnest parts. The 6:1 heavy wall tube is also thicker and tougher.
Can I use it over a Solderstick joint?
Yes. Solderstick connectors are already sealed, but a length of adhesive heat shrink over the top adds extra strain relief and protection on joints that get bent, rubbed or bumped.
How to use it
STEP 1: Slide the connector onto one of the wires
STEP 2: Twist or intermix the two stripped wire ends
STEP 3: Slide the connector over the joint
STEP 4: Heat the solder first then the ends

Anyone working on low voltage wiring: car, ute, 4x4, caravan, boat and truck owners, auto electricians, marine techs, solar installers, farmers and hobbyists.
-
You need a heat gun or a small butane torch.
- Slide the connector onto one of the wires.
- Strip both ends, clean them if they're dull, then twist them together.
- Slide the connector over the joint so the solder ring sits over the twist.
- Heat the solder ring until it melts and flows into the wires, then heat each end until the glue rings seal.
For extra protection, slide a piece of dual wall heat shrink over the finished joint.
-
A heat gun, or a small butane torch. If you use a torch, keep the flame moving so the tubing doesn't scorch before the solder melts.
-
No. You'll get a good joint without it. On old or tarnished wire, a little flux and a quick preheat help the solder flow right through the joint.
-
Yes. Once heated, the glue rings seal both ends and the joint is IP67 rated. For joints that sit in salt spray or get knocked about, add dual wall heat shrink over the top.
-
Light bars and spotlights, trailer plugs, fridges and dual battery setups, bilge pumps and nav lights, reversing cameras, car audio, solar leads, and quick repairs on farm and workshop gear. Any 12 or 24 volt joint that has to stay dry.
